Coppa del Mondo donne e Cittiglio all’insegna del ReCycling
Dopo il grande successo delle ultime stagioni la Cycling Sport Promotion, società organizzatrice del Trofeo Alfredo Binda, conferma il proprio impegno nel programma ambientale UCI ReCycling, che sarà così presente a Cittiglio per il quarto anno consecutivo.
Partendo dalle istituzioni, hanno confermato il loro patrocinio al progetto “ReCycling”: Commissione Europea, Provincia di Varese, Comune di Cittiglio, Comunità Montata Valli del Verbano, GAL dei Laghi e della Montagna, GAL delle Valli del Luinese, Comune di Camerota e Parco Nazionale del Cilento A questi si è aggiunto anche EXPO 2015, l’esposizione mondiale milanese che avrà come tema centrale quello dell’alimentazione e della valorizzazione dei prodotti locali.
Per onorare al meglio l’impegno verso l’ambiente nel 2015 è stato deciso di sostenere le proposte avanzate dal Comune di Cittiglio in materia di salvaguardia e tutela della natura. La località d’arrivo della Coppa del Mondo si è infatti attrezzata, prendendo anche spunto da quanto proposto dalla CSP nel corso di questi tre anni di adesione al programma ReCycling, con l’installazione di alcuni posaceneri ecologici volti ad incentivare i fumatori a non gettare mozziconi di sigaretta a terra. Un importante lavoro è stato svolto anche nella promozione della nuova pista ciclabile, grazie alla creazione di un parco giochi per bambini e di mappe turistiche.
Come sempre l’attenzione della CSP è rivolta alla promozione delle piste ciclabili presenti sul nostro territorio con l’installazione dei pannelli promozionali inerenti alle corse da noi organizzate all’imbocco della ciclabile Laveno Mombello-Cittiglio, che unisce idealmente le due località regine del Trofeo Binda.
Per quanto riguarda la salvaguardia dell’ambiente, nei giorni di gara saranno allestiti punti di raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti nelle aree di maggior flusso (partenza a Laveno Mombello, arrivo a Cittiglio, villaggio commerciale, parcheggio squadre, segreteria e sala stampa) e all’interno della zona di rifornimento (Green Zone) destinata alle atlete, che quest’anno sarà curata dai volontari dell’AVIS (Associazione Volontari Italiani Donatori di Sangue). Le corrette informazioni sull’uso della Green Zone verranno date alle atlete mediante un apposito comunicato inserito nel materiale informativo della gara e verranno comunicate anche ai direttori sportivi nel corso della riunione tecnica di sabato pomeriggio a Cittiglio.
A testimoniare il totale coinvolgimento della società organizzatrice della prova italiana di Coppa del Mondo di ciclismo femminile, tutte le guide tecniche sono state stampate su speciale carta sbiancata senza cloro (FSA) e con inchiostri a base vegetale. Inoltre è stata richiesta all’ENEL (Ente nazionale energia elettrica) una fornitura di energia “pulita” a basso impatto ambientale.
Per agevolare l’economia rurale della provincia di Varese quest’anno saranno ben due le formazioni iscritte al Trofeo Binda che saranno ospitate presso l’agriturismo “La Betulla” di Brezzo di Bedero, dal quale potranno godere di un fantastico scenario sul Lago Maggiore.
Anche quest’anno la Cycling Sport Promotion si avvarrà di oltre 500 metri di striscioni in TNT ecologici, ricavati dal riciclaggio di bottiglie di plastica PET. Altresì, tutti i volontari predisposti al montaggio dei pannelli e degli striscioni saranno dotati di un’apposita sacca con il marchio “ReCycling” al cui interno porre gli scarti delle fascette in plastica usate per il fissaggio delle strutture.
Il programma UCI ReCycling è stato sviluppato abbondantemente anche nelle scuole, con la distribuzione di un volantino specifico e la messa in scena di un apposito videoclip, con protagonista la nostra mascotte “Gianbattista Ciclista Ecologista” che ha riscosso grande successo tra i più piccoli. Sono stati inoltre riproposti alcuni interessanti gadgets come borracce promozionali in materiale biodegradabile, da regalare ai bambini nel corso del “progetto scuole” e l’immancabile bidoncino porta-penne “UCI ReCycling“ ed il nuovissimo blocchetto per appunti “UCI ReCycling” in carta e cartone riciclato, che verranno donati alle atlete, ai vip ed alle autorità.
Durante i giorni di gara, in segreteria verranno usate penne con fusto in cartone riciclato e inchiostro vegetale, oltre all’insostituibile carta riciclata, con cui anche questi documenti sono stati stampati.
Sui nostri comunicati stampa spicca inoltre il marchio “Think before you print“, in modo da sensibilizzare il lettore alla possibilità di non stampare documenti inutilmente.
Il nostro piano di sicurezza è stato avallato anche quest’anno a pieni voti dalla Questura di Varese, mentre la Prefettura ha predisposto la chiusura delle strade per il giorno di gara. Le strade verranno frecciate una settimana prima della manifestazione per favorire gli allenamenti delle atlete. Verranno inoltre predisposti percorsi alternativi per il traffico veicolare e due PPO per regolare il traffico in ingresso a Laveno Mombello e Cittiglio.
ReCycling 2015
After last year great success, the Cycling Sport Promotion, the organiser of the “Alfredo Binda Trophy”, has renewed its commitment to the eco-friendly cause of the UCI Recycling program for the fourth consecutive year.
The following institutions Commissione Europea, Provincia di Varese, Comune di Cittiglio, Comunità Montata Valli del Verbano, GAL dei Laghi e della Montagna, GAL delle Valli del Luinese, Comune di Camerota e Parco Nazionale del Cilento will play an active role within the “Recycling” project, together with EXPO 2015, the Milan world exhibition that will focus on nutrition and promotion of local products.
In order to enhance our commitment to the environmental cause, this year we will support the proposals of Comune di Cittiglio for the preservation and protection of nature. Alongside the Cycling Sport Promotion initiatives of the last three years, the arrival area of the World Cup will be equipped with ecological ashtrays to encourage smokers not to throw cigarette butts on the ground. Great work has also been done promoting the new bike path, a new children’s playground and new tourist maps.
To raise awareness about the cycle tracks around our territory, we have set up informative boards about the races at the start of the Laveno Mombello-Cittiglio cycle track which joins the two main towns of the Binda Trophy.
As far as the environmental protection is concerned, during the race days, waste collection points will be set up in areas of greater public flow (start in Laveno Mombello arrival in Cittiglio, shopping village, team parking areas, secretary and press room) and inside the feeding area (Green Zone) for the athletes. This year the area will be looked after by AVIS volunteers (Italian Association of Blood Donors). Proper information on the use of the Green Zone will be passed on to the athletes through a specific flyer included in the race paper work and will be also available to the team managers during the technical meeting on Saturday afternoon in Cittiglio.
As a proof of the total commitment of the organisers of the Italian women World Cup race, all technical guidelines are printed on special bleached without chlorine (FSA) paper with vegetable-based inks. Furthermore ENEL (national electricity supplier) was asked to provide “clean” energy at low environmental impact.
To help the rural economy of our province this year two teams taking part in the Binda Trophy will be staying at the farm ““La Betulla” Brezzo di Bedero, where they will be able to enjoy fantastic views of Lake Maggiore.
New this year, the Cycling Sport Promotion will use more than 500 meters of ecological TNT banners , made from recycled PET plastic bottles. Also, all the volunteers for the set up of panels and banners will be equipped with a bag labeled “recycling” to collect plastic cable ties used to fix the structures.
The UCI Recycling Program has been widely addressed across the schools in the area, with the distribution of a specific leaflet and a special videoclip, featuring our mascot “Giambattista Eco-friendly Cyclist ” which was a great success with the children. The video is on our YouTube page.
Some very interesting gadgets including promotional water bottles made of biodegradable material will be available to the children taking part in the “school project”, the inevitable pen holders “UCI ReCycling” bins and the new “UCI Recycling” Notepads made of recycled paper and cardboard, which will be given to the athletes, the VIPs and the authorities.
During the competition days, the press room will be equipped with pens made of solid recycled cardboard and vegetable ink and recycled paper, the same paper as these documents are printed on.
The logo “Think before you print” stands out on all our press releases, so the reader will only print documents if needed.
Our safety plan has been endorsed once again by the Police of Varese, the Prefecture has ordered the closure of roads for the day of the race. The race route will be sign posted a week before the event to facilitate the athletes’ training. Alternative routes will also be prepared for regular traffic and two PPO will be set up to regulate incoming traffic in Laveno Mombello and Cittiglio.

GESTIONE RIFIUTI URBANI
Il problema dello smaltimento dei rifiuti si fa sempre più pressante, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i costi di smaltimento. Occorre pertanto la collaborazione di tutti per limitare, se non addirittura ridurre, tali costi che poi si traducono sulle tariffe applicate ad ogni singola utenza. Come fare e cosa fare? In primo luogo occorre arginare la produzione dei rifiuti, ad esempio privilegiando gli acquisti di prodotti che limitano al massimo l’impiego di imballi, soprattutto non biodegradabili e/o riciclabili ma questo non sempre è di facile applicazione. L’aspetto sul quale possiamo tutti intervenire da subito è la differenziazione al momento di conferire il rifiuto nell’apposito sacco: in particolare la plastica, il vetro e le lattine, la carta, la frazione umida ma anche i farmaci, le pile esaurite, l’olio esausto separando quello della cucina da quello minerale, i metalli, gli indumenti, i prodotti elettronici ed elettrici e quelli ingombranti (mobili, elettrodomestici, ecc.), gli scarti verdi nonché i rifiuti tossici (vernici, solventi, detergenti, ecc).
Questo perché differenziare correttamente i rifiuti significa consentire lo smaltimento ai centri appropriati con conseguente riduzione di quanto inserito nel “sacco viola” che notoriamente va a finire o in discarica o smaltito negli inceneritori. Inoltre va considerato che alcune tipologie di materiali, quali ad esempio la plastica, il vetro e la carta, vengono vendute in quanto riciclabili; quindi non avremo un costo per lo smaltimento, bensì un ricavo, voce attiva nel bilancio economico della gestione dei rifiuti.
L’obiettivo minimo da raggiungere per il riciclo ed il recupero dei rifiuti, indicati dalla Legge Regionale e dal Piano Provinciale è definito in almeno il 65% di differenziazione con parallela riduzione dei rifiuti del 3%.
La Comunità Montana, alla quale è stato affidato l’appalto del servizio a livello comunitario, ha predisposto e distribuito a tutti un opuscolo illustrativo molto chiaro ed esaustivo sull’argomento che Vi raccomandiamo di consultare con la massima attenzione. Appare evidente e comprensibile che differenziare correttamente è anche un interesse per tutti. In conclusione ciascuno di noi deve avere sempre ben presente le “4R che fanno bene all’ambiente (ed anche al portafoglio)”: RIDURRE, RIUTILIZZARE, RECUPERARE E RICICLARE.
MANAGEMENT OF URBAN WASTE
The problem of waste disposal is becoming more and more urgent, particularly as regards the disposal costs. Therefore the cooperation of everybody is needed to limit, if not to reduce, such costs that consequently affect the fees charged to each citizen. How and what to do? First of all, we need to cut down the production of waste, for example favoring purchases of products that minimize the use of packagings specially non-biodegradable ones and/or recyclable but this is not always easy to apply. The issue on which we all can take action immediately is the differentiation at the time of introducing the waste the into the appropriate sacs/containers: particularly plastics, glass, cans, paper, organic fractions but also drugs, dead batteries, used oils separating the cooking ones from the mineral ones, metals, garments, electronic and electrical products and bulky ones (pieces of furniture, domestic appliances, etc.), as well as green waste and toxic waste (paints, solvents, detergents, etc. ).
This is why to properly differentiate waste means to allow the appropriate centers to dispose of the waste with a consequent reduction of what inserted in the “violet sac” which, as well known, ends up in a landfill or is disposed of in incinerators. Furthermore it should be considered that some types of materials, such as plastics, glass and paper, are sold being recyclable; then we will not have a cost for disposal, but a revenue, which will represent an active voice in the economic balance of waste management.
The minimum target to be achieved for the recycling and recovery of waste indicated by the Regional Law and the Provincial Plan is fixed in at least 65% of differentiation with a parallel reduction of waste of 3%.
The Mountain Community Institution, who has been awarded the contract of service at community level, has printed and distributed to all citizens an explanatory pamphlet with very clear exhaustive information on the subject that we recommend to be very carefully consulted by everybody. It is obvious and intelligible that to properly differentiate the waste is also a concern for all of us.
In conclusion each of us must always keep in mind the “4R that are good for the environment (and for our pocket, too )”: REDUCE, REUSE, RECOVER and RECYCLE.
PARCO GIOCHI PISTA CICLO-PEDONALE
E’ nato un nuovo parco Giochi, chiamato “Stì Park”, composto da un campo da calcetto, ping pong, una teleferica e attrezzi esterni da palestra.
Il prossimo anno sono in previsione degli ulteriori attrezzi per un percorso vita e un tappeto elastico. In cambio dell’utilizzo di un reliquato stradale in via per Mombello, la Ditta Agrilaghi ha posizionato lungo la pista ciclo-perdonale delle panchine in pietra e dei tavolini nell’area attrezzata in sostituzione del pagamento del canone per l’utilizzo di un’area comunale, mentre altre panchine sono state donate dall’azienda Monti Arreda alla quale rivolgiamo un sentito ringraziamento. Infine è stato illuminato un tratto della pista ciclo-pedonale tramite piastrelle a risparmio energetico e utilizzo dell’energia solare. Per il prossimo anno si ha intenzione, bilancio permettendo, di completare l’intero tratto, anche grazie alla campagna ”Adotta una mattonella” (vedi articolo).
PLAYGROUND AT THE BIKE-PEDESTRIAN TRACK
A new playground, called “Stì Park”, consisting of a small soccer field, table tennis, a cableway and outdoor gym tools was created at the bike-pedestrian track.
Next year additional tools for a life trail and a springboard are foreseen. In exchange for the private use of a piece of municipal land in Via per Mombello, Agrilaghi Company placed along the bike-pedestrian track some stone benches and some small tables in the equipped area, as replacement of the payment of the fee for the use of the above mentioned municipal area, whereas other benches were donated by Monti Arreda Company whom we wish to sincerely thank. Lastly a part of the bike-pedestrian track was finally lit by means of energy saving tiles and use of solar energy. If the budget permits, for next year we are going to complete the entire length of the track, thanks to the campaign “Adopt a tile” (see the article).

Sono state posizionate 4 mappe della pista ciclo-pedonale in alcuni punti strategici del paese (stazione ed accessi alla pista) al fine di individuare i servizi legati alla pista stessa.

POSACENERI ECOLOGICI
Sono stati posizionati 5 posaceneri grandi a terra e 5 posaceneri piccoli su pali e sostegni esistenti, finalizzati ad educare i fumatori affinché non gettino a terra i mozziconi e rispettino così l’ambiente in cui si vive.
ECOLOGICAL ASHTRAYS
5 Large ashtrays were placed on the ground and 5 small ashtrays on existing stakes and support devices in order to educate smokers not to throw cigarette stubs on the ground, thus respecting the environment in which we live.
PERCORSO VITA ALLA PISTA CICLO-PEDONALE
Vicino al nuovo parco giochi, si ha intenzione di inserire nuovi giochi, come ad esempio alcuni attrezzi per il percorso vita e un tappeto elastico.
Se ci fosse la possibilità di prendere in affitto alcuni terreni limitrofi, si potrebbe avere più spazio a disposizione per un chiosco con musica per i nostri giovani. Il divertimento setrale raggiungibile a piedi !!!
LIFE TRAIL AT THE BIKE-PEDESTRIAN TRACK
We have in mind to add some new games near the new playground, such as some fitness tools for the life trail and a springboard.
Should there be any possibility to rent some nearby pieces of land, we might have more space available for a kiosk with music for our young people. The night fun to be reached by walking !!!
CAMPAGNA PER IL RISPARMIO ENERGETICO E L’ILLUMINAZIONE URBANA ECOSOSTENIBILE DA FONTE RINNOVABILE (ENERGIA SOLARE)
“Dare LUCE al futuro” è il titolo del progetto per adottare una mattonella solare “Geco Circle” (con dedica personalizzata) per la nuova pista ciclabile In collaborazione con Genesi Luce Srl.
L’Amministrazione Comunale ed il Sindaco Dott. Fabrizio Anzani hanno pensato di coinvolgere la popolazione e le scuole del Comune nel progetto di adozione di un nuovo tratto di pista ciclo-pedonale che contribuirà a rendere piu’ fruibile il territorio con una innovazione tecnologica dall’alto contenuto educativo per il messaggio rivolto al risparmio energetico e alla salvaguardia dell’ambiente.
Il progetto prevede la continuazione dell’opera mediante l’adozione da parte dei singoli cittadini di un modulo Geco Circle già posato a luglio su un tratto sperimentale della pista ciclo-pedonale.
I cittadini possono personalizzare la mattonella dedicandola ad una persona a cui vogliono bene e che ama la natura. Sono stati creati 3 modelli personalizzati:
a: dedicata a: fidanzata/o, moglie, marito, amico, amica
b: dedicata a: Mamma, Papà, Nonna, Nonno
c: dedicata a: chiunque vi faccia piacere
Il costo della singola mattonella solare con dedica è di 99 euro. I cittadini interessati possono sottoscrivere l’adozione mediante un’apposita cartolina che sarà distribuita nelle scuole oppure rivolgendosi agli uffici comunali. Il versamento può essere effettuato tramite conto corrente postale precompilato.
CAMPAIGN FOR ENERGY SAVING AND SUSTAINABLE URBAN LIGHTING BY RENEWABLE SOURCES (SOLAR ENERGY)
“Give LIGHT to the Future” is the title of the project to adopt a “Geco Circle” solar tile (with a personal dedication) for the new bike-pedestrian track in collaboration with Genesis Luce Srl.
The City Council and the Mayor Dr. Fabrizio Anzani have thought of involving local people and municipal schools in the project of adopting a new stretch of the bike-pedestrian track that will help to make better usable the territory by a technological innovation with a high educational content because of the message addressed to energy saving and environment protection.
The project foresees the continuation of the work through the adoption by individual citizens of a Geco Circle’s module already laid in July on an experimental piece of the bike-pedestrian track.
Citizens may customize the tile dedicating it to a person they love and who loves the environment. Three personalised specimen have been created:
a: dedicated to: girlfriend, boyfriend or wife, husband, friend
b: dedicated to: Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Grandfather
c: dedicated to everybody who one believes will be pleased
The cost of a single solar tile with a dedication is of 99 Euro. Concerned citizens may subscribe to the adoption of a tile by a special card that will be distributed in schools or by applying to the municipal offices. The payment can be made by postal account.
CASA DELL’ACQUA
Sarà installata presso il Piazzale De Peri la casa dell’acqua: un punto di erogazione di acqua potabile, liscia e gassata, che costerà rispettivamente 0,05 €/litro ed 0,10 €/litro, mentre il costo della tessera ricaricabile sarà pari ad € 2,50.
L’Amministrazione Comunale ha deciso di incentivare il consumo dell’acqua pubblica un stallando la Casa dell’acqua che eroga acqua microfiltrata naturale fredda o frizzante. E’ una fontana pubblica che promuove l’acqua dell’acquedotto esaltandone le caratteristiche di qualità e di sicurezza. Il sistema di microfiltrazione elimina l’eccesso di cloro ed altre impurità eventualmente presenti nell’acqua, ne migliora le caratteristiche organolettiche, l’odore, il sapore naturale, la trasparenza e mantiene il più equilibrato contenuto di Sali minerali. Ai fini della sicurezza, una speciale lampada a raggi ultravioletti, sterilizza l’acqua prima dell’erogazione. L’acqua microfiltrata dunque è più gustosa da bere e adatta per cucinare perché esalta e rende più definiti i sapori degli alimenti. Inoltre, come lo era in passato, la casetta può divenire un punto che favorisce l’aggregazione e la socialità, valori importanti della tradizione valorizzati da una fontana contemporanea che fa uso delle moderne tecnologie per l’acqua. La Casa dell’acqua pone inoltre un’attenzione particolare all’ambiente perché utilizza tutte le nuove risorse a disposizione per risparmiare energia e ridurre la produzione di rifiuti plastici con i conseguenti problemi di smaltimento. I vantaggi di sostegno di una nuova politica di sviluppo sostenibile sono immediati. Il 65% dell’acqua venduta è in contenitori di plastica ed ogni anno finiscono tra i rifiuti 320-350 mila tonnellate di contenitori in PET. Il consorzio che si occupa del recupero degli imballaggi in plastica ne ricicla 124 mila, il 34%. L’impatto ambientale dell’acqua in bottiglia è ancora più alto se si considera che l’82% della stessa si sposta in tutta Italia lungo l’asse autostradale.
WATER’s HOUSE
The so called “Water’s House”” will be installed in Piazzale De Peri, a site for the supply of drinking water, natural and sparkling, which will cost respectively € 0,05 / liter and € 0,10 / liter, while the cost of a rechargeable card will be of € 2,50.
The City Council has decided to favor the consumption of public water installing the Water’s House that supplies natural or sparkling micro-filtered water. It is a public fountain that promotes the public aqueduct water exalting the features of quality and safety. The microfiltration system removes the excess of chlorine and other impurities that may be present in the water, improves the organoleptic characteristics, the smell, the natural flavor, the transparency and maintains the most balanced content of mineral salts. For safety purposes, a special ultraviolet lamp sterilizes the water before the supply. The filtered water is therefore tastier for drinking and suitable for cooking because it enhances and makes more defined the flavors of foods. Furthermore, as it was in the past, the House may become a point that favors aggregation and sociability, important values of tradition enhanced by a contemporary fountain that uses modern technologies for water. The Water’s House also takes a particular care of the environment as it uses all the available new resources to save energy and to reduce the production of plastics waste with consequent problems of disposal. The benefits of supporting a new policy of sustainable development are immediate. 65% of water is sold in plastic containers and each year approximately 320-350 thousand tons of PET containers end up in the trash. The consortium in charge of the recovery of plastics packagings recycles 124 thousand tons, representing 34%. The environmental impact of bottled water is even higher if we consider that 82% of the same moves throughout Italy along the highways.
